My story
I graduated from film school in 2020. My path after this was predetermined and simple: move to the city, work hard, and in time my talents will be seen and recognized. Then COVID hit, and my efforts to stay on this path were brought to an abrupt stop. In order to recover my financial security, I put my film career on the sideline, and when I was ready, I would start again.
Over the next few years, I acquired numerous soft skills, such as resilience, collaborative thinking, self-discipline, and self-advocacy. It was a difficult path to take, but I feel more confident than ever to give it another try. I can finally go back into the creative field with a fresh new perspective, and return to my creative roots.
Moving forward, instead of fitting my career into a preset mold, I will make it real and authentic. I will not cover up the "gap" in my resume, or downplay any skills under the label "extracurricular." There is a lot more to my artistry that a conventional online portfolio can convey. My new portfolio will grow with me, well beyond my degree. I will integrate all of my abilities into one professional identity--a MULTIMEDIA ARTIST.
